Despite producing The Outsiders, Angelina Jolie tells PEOPLE that her daughter Vivienne is the family’s biggest “theater head.”
Jolie, 48, disclosed that her 15-year-old daughter was very much present for the April 11 premiere of the new Broadway musical.
The Academy Award winner affirms without hesitation that the adolescent is their family’s “biggest theater head” when questioned. “Viv. “Definitely Viv,” Jolie responds, echoing Justin Levine, the composer and author of the Outsiders book.

The new stage version of the well-loved 1967 coming-of-age novel by S. E. Hinton is scheduled to premiere. Screenwriter Kathleen Rowell and director Francis Ford Coppola first adapted the narrative almost forty years ago. The 1983 movie adaption starring C. Thomas Howell, Ralph Macchio, Rob Lowe, Patrick Swayze, Matt Dillon, Tom Cruise, and more.
Brody Grant plays Ponyboy Curtis in the new series, while Brent Comer plays Darrel Curtis. Jason Schmidt plays Sodapop “Soda” Curtis, Daryl Tofa plays Keith “Two-Bit Mathews,” and Joshua Boone plays Dallas “Dally” Winston. Sky Lakota-Lynch plays Johnny Cade.
The story picks up in Tulsa, Oklahoma in the 1960s, following the brothers Ponyboy, Darrel, Sodapop “Soda,” and their group of friends following the loss of the boys’ parents.

Jolie recently disclosed to PEOPLE that her deep feelings for the upcoming musical and its creative team served as her inspiration.
“It’s been a privilege to be a part of the process,” said Jolie. “I have so much respect for Broadway and all who work within.”
“I’ve been in the theater witnessing the initial responses, which include the frequently highly emotional response from youth,” the actress disclosed. “It’s really touching.”
The producer also said, “Working with this incredibly talented and committed group was a dream come true. They are all brilliant actors, dancers, and singers. They put in unbelievable amounts of work.
After a month of previews, the production officially opened on Wednesday, April 17.
