I was thrilled when I opened the shopping bag that had been sent to my house and saw my Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show getting ready costume. To be very honest, I’d always wondered what it would be like to be an Angel getting makeup done backstage while wearing the brand’s iconic $60 Satin Short Piped Robe. The official VS merchandise symbol was encrusted with crystals on the rear of mine. I had to do my own makeup before making the drive to Brooklyn’s Duggal Greenhouse to see the return of the renowned VS runway, but the crystals and the matching baseball cap (which is sadly already sold out from the “Shop the Fashion Show” drop) more than made up for it.
Even yet, the Very Sexy Rose Lace Balconette Catsuit ($130), which I was going to wear to the event, was the one that gave me the greatest anxiety when I put it on after the pink robe. I almost put my foot in my mouth when I realized how sheer the material was—it was far more daring than the loungewear I had been wearing before.
As it turned up, I was watching from my audience seat and was impressed by the confidence of model and former First Lady of France Carla Bruni, who was wearing the exact same design on the runway. My desire to hide in my baggy denim jacket vanished out of nowhere. As we all attended a VS Fashion Show that was more body inclusive than ever before, I really felt more liberated in my underwear after noticing what other attendees were wearing. Don’t get me wrong: I think the brand still has a ways to go (watchers everywhere had the same viewpoint after the Fashion Show ended), but being able to wear lingerie that’s usually only worn by Angels made the runway design appear more approachable.
See below for my styling tips for the VS Very Sexy Rose Lace Balconette Catsuit that Bruni wore, as well as my complete online assessment of the item.
Carla Bruni on the Victoria’s Secret Runway
In a glamorous costume that epitomized elegance, Bruni shone as she celebrated receiving her wings before of the concert. Along with the perfectly coordinated Lace Lightly Lined Demi Bra and Twinkle Strap Lace Corset Set, she looked stunning in the VS Very Sexy Rose Lace Fashion Show Balconette Catsuit. Chunky stone hoops elegantly framed her face, and she looked ethereal with her dazzling beaded wings. She accentuated the glittering boning on her top with her wraparound dazzling stilettos, which boosted the ensemble. With its blend of refinement and charm, the catsuit was the ideal base for the whole ensemble. Bruni stood out at the occasion thanks to her incredible style, which exuded confidence.
How to Style a Lace Catsuit
I chose to wear a casual feel by layering my clothing with an oversized denim jacket from Frame and simple black heels Fashion Show, even though I was just a spectator at the event. I finished the suit with a sporty hat to give it a playful edge. I used the VS Shine Patch Lightly Lined Wireless Bra and VS Logo Cotton Shine Patch Hiphugger Panty underneath, which I heartily suggest for anyone looking for a comfortable yet slightly glitzy combination. The wireless bra was really light and silky, making it ideal for use throughout the day. In the meanwhile, the panties added no bulk and provided exactly the appropriate amount of coverage beneath my bodysuit, which looked like stockings. I was able to appreciate the concert without compromising my sense of taste thanks to my clothing, which achieved the ideal mix of stylish comfort and easy elegance. All in all, the ensemble exuded a casual sophistication.
Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy Rose Lace Balconette Catsuit Review
I began to value the catsuit more and more over time, and not just because Bruni’s self-assurance gave me ideas. It fits like a second skin because it truly has an elastic feel to it. Additionally, I like the way that some design elements, like the vertical front seams and illusion front panty panel, combine sophistication with a certain sexiness. It is also simple to use without assistance to open the rear zipper, and regardless matter how many layers you pile on top, it looks great with heels.
My only complaint is that the chest area is quite open and the sweetheart neckline is very low cut, so if you want to layer a bra underneath the built-in cups, it will definitely Fashion Show through and might not line up exactly as you imagined. To find the ideal fit for your shape, try it on with a couple different bra and panty sets underneath, in my opinion.
Naturally, you’ll want to pull this bodysuit fashion show outfit up carefully because the lace embroidery is quite delicate, much like with a pair of tights.
